Bakterienruhr   Bacterial dysentery Caused by  Shigella dysenteriae and other Shigella species
Bakteriocine   Bacteriocine Substances which inhibit or kill other cells of the same species
Bakteriophage       -en Phage    (pl.: Phage) Short term for ‘bacteriophage’, a kind of virus that attacks bacteria
Bakteriostatikum   Bacteriostat Prevents bacterial growth without killing the bacteria
