Keramikfilter m Ceramic filter A porous (unglazed) ceramic material, such as porcelain, which typically will pass fluids, but will block passage of bacteria. Viruses were called “filterable” because they would pass through such filters.
Kerbe f, -, -n Baffle A glass flask with ‘Kerben’ has had the base and wall indented (while softened by heat) with a narrow edge at 3 - 4 places to increase turbulence when the flask is used to grow microorganisms on a shaker. Fermentors often have baffles to increase turbulence

Kontinuierliches Verfahren   Continuous fermentation (Continuous process). Fermentation (process) with continuous addition of nutrient and removal of product.
Kornmehl   Cornmeal The ‘corn’ here is maize.
KP   SP Short-pass (optical filter). The abbreviation is not commonly used in English.
